Our Challenge
Our Designated Medical PA, Lucinda, took over the running of Nims private practice from a freelance PA at a medical secretarial company. Nim was using Semble as his Practice Management System and Lucinda started by ensuring all the letter templates and clinics were efficiently set up. Our team are experts in Semble, and we find that setting up the system properly on day one leads to an enhanced experience for everyone involved, including the consultant and the patients.
There were also some issues with invoicing patients which the Medical PA had previously managed. At Designated Medical, we have a specialist billing team led by our Finance Director, Vicky, who is an expert accountant, and so we introduced a new billing model, which has worked incredibly well.
Our Results
Nim is pleased that his patients are happy and that they benefit from an excellent patient experience from our team. He regularly receives positive feedback from his patients and consultant colleagues who comment on the high level of service.
The practice has grown significantly and Nim is delighted with this. He also reports that his private practice is much less stressful for him and more rewarding.
Our medical PA, Lucinda, says, “One of the great things about being a Designated Medical PA is that we are not tied to prescribed ways of working, which I had been accustomed to in previous roles. Every Consultant’s practice is different and the ‘one fits all’ approach no longer ensures the patient and practitioner are receiving a detailed high quality, personalised service. I can cover all locations that Nim practices from with ease using all the functions of Semble, bringing all the remote system information into one central place, which allows Nim to have access to everything he needs in the simplest form.”
Why Nim chose Designated Medical
“My PA Lucinda has been very efficient and thorough in her work. The patients have given good feedback, and she has always been accessible and available to my patients and myself. This is invaluable in private practice and is vital for my service. Designated Medical also has a wider team, and the billing services led by Beckie for my practice have been excellent in their work as well. Separating the billing service from the secretarial service also helps with the efficient working of my practice and has undoubtedly made my life easier as well!”
